ANTHONY MORA

Anthony Mora was born in Los Angeles, California, to a non-musical family. His interest in music began at the age of 6, starting with the piano. Eventually, he developed a fondness for the trumpet and began studying at the Colburn Community School of Performing Arts, where he was under the guidance of Darren Mulder. He furthered his musical education at Pasadena City College, studying with Kevin Brown. He has also studied with Robert Frear, Ryan Darke, and the Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Arturo Sandoval. Currently, he is being mentored by Thomas Hooten, the principal trumpet of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Highlights of Anthony's performances:

  • Performed with Mariachi Arcoiris de Los Angeles.
  • Performed at the Hollywood Bowl in 2013.

Hobbies and Interests: Apart from music, Anthony is passionate about fitness and health. He devotes his spare time to training in bodybuilding and powerlifting, driven by a strong commitment to self-improvement.

Favorite Songs/Genres: Anthony's taste in music genres is ever-changing as he discovers new music across various media platforms. However, two genres that have remained a constant presence are Opera and Jazz. Whether he's on his way to teach or simply enjoying music, he can be found listening to opera arias on Classical KUSC or jazz charts on KJazz 88.1.
